Every year at Christmas time the Tlaquepapue (pronounced Ta-loc-ca-paw-kee) shopping area in Sedona, there are placed thousands of brown paper bags with sand and candles in them around the various shops, water fountains, trees, etc. In the central plaza area a large cross is formed from bags about 6 across and 18 high on the vertical portion. At dusk shoppers purchase matches to light all the bags and the proceeds go to charitable organizations. In a matter of 20 minutes or so the whole array of bags are lit.
