This is both a more conventional shot than many in this gallery, yet it's still unconventional. I don't think I've seen one where the subject is not only looking out of the frame but also pointing out at the viewer in that way. It's very arresting because it IS so different to most shots, but not at all confronting because she has such a lovely open and friendly face. The very shallow depth works remarkably well.
