After an early morning arrival in Reykjavik, some driving through town to get our accommodation vouchers and a brief unintended detour North (rather than South) on Route 1, we got on our way. In addition to multiple stops along the road, we first headed to the Žingvellir National Park, the site where the old parliament used to meet every summer. From there, we continued on to the Geysers, but decided to have a sugar & caffeine fix (at USD15 a Person!) first and then ran out of time to get to the Geysers. Instead, we drove on, stopped briefly at the Gulfoss (Golden Fall) waterfall and then intended to head straight and without stopping to our booked accommodation that night in Vik. Well, we only stopped about 10 times along the way ... that's where the second set of waterfall pictures and the sod-house photos are from. Sodhouses were high on our list of "things to take photos of" and we stopped for about every other waterfall and church all through out trip ... so be prepared to look at more photos of those :)
