St. James (Episcopal) Church

501 Killingworth Road, Higganum, Connecticut USA

"On May 25, 1873, our church was formally opened for worship by the Reverend Doctor Samuel Fuller of Berkeley Divinity School. He preached on a text from Jeremiah vi, 16: "Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls." On that occasion thirteen persons received the Holy Communion." From their site.

To mark a related date...our village was first settled just 10 years before in 1863. I do love wooden churches, especially painted white.
