Sunrise at Thunder Lake

Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado, USA

Shortly after shooting the previous image of the pond I rotated the tripod head 180 degrees to capture the first rays of sunlight glancing on the underside of the morning clouds.

Oh, almost forgot - the one thing that I would change about this image is the very right hand side. The silhouetted tree, which is very interesting is cut in half. I'd either include it all since it is interesting or I'd cut it out completely.

Good job including a thin line of "treescape" along the bottom of the image, it works to connect the viewer to the experience of being there. Without it, would seem that I was floating in the sky watching the sunrise light touch the clouds. With the thin line of treescape, I am "there" connecting to the beauty of the experience.

I really like this picture! It makes me want to go out and take pictures myself. You are really good. Good job.
