BEE..UTIFUL (Orange Rumped Bumble Bee)
This little bee was very busy visiting the rhododendron blossoms. It sure was a brightly colored little thing. I learned it is an Orange Rumped Bumble Bee (thanks Laura)
It was difficult to keep focused on it as it flew from flower to flower, so the camera was used handheld to try to keep up with its constant movement.

Visitors to Millrace Park
Carol was able to go out with me for a little while for a visit to Millrace Park. This is a shot of her and Miko under the arbor at the park.
It's beautiful here today. Should reach 80 degrees.

Dogwood Blossoms
I thought the tree arranged these blossoms nicely. Thanks, Robert, for the ID.

Mama Bald Eagle Nest Sitting
I checked on Mama Bald Eagle on Skinner Butte this morning. She was sitting on the nest, while the chick slept. The grayish lump on her left is the baby. It popped up a few times but neither cooperated by assuming a nice pose for me. Most of the time the mama was sitting with her back to me and looking out over the Willamette River. Lighting was also a problem, harsh contrasts between sunlit areas and shade. In this image, at least the lighting was manageable. I thought it shows the beauty of the bald eagle.

Here's My Heart, Please Don't Break It!
She never did!
These heart shaped flowers (Bleeding Hearts), found in Hendricks Park, are just beautiful!
I couldn't resist taking time for a photo of them.

Field of Camas Flowers
Because of cloudy conditions, I tried different points of view in capturing this Camas field.
Hopefully, I will be going back later in the week. We expect better weather.

Camas Flower and Bee
I was invited to visit a friend's home to see the gorgeous field of Camas on in front of the house.
I just couldn't resist first posting this shot of the Camas flower and a bee. I will post a photo of the field soon.

Crane Fly in Magnolia Blossom
I saw this crane fly in the blossom of a tiny magnolia tree, I believe it was. Correct? I thought it made a neat photo.
Numerous common names have been applied to the crane fly, including mosquito eater and daddy longlegs. Evidently, they are called different things in different regions. The real name is 'crane fly'. They don't really eat mosquitos, unfortunately. :)

Angie and Cloud
Carol and I visited the stables with our oldest daughter, Angie, today and had a good time. Carol just had to see Cloud, her Arabian/Appaloosa gelding.
I loved this photo I shot of Angie with Cloud in the meadow back of the stables.

Osprey in a Tree
This beautiful osprey (fish eagle) was sitting on a branch high in a tree at Alton Baker park, enjoying a beautiful sunny day.
It is supposed to get to 70 deg. F today! A perfect day in Oregon!
