01-AUG-2015 Vern Rogers (fotabug fotos)

What are they?

I am not sure about this pair. I don't see an exact match in my Birds of Oregon book, but would guess they are some sort of Sandpiper. Right? Sure would appreciate a positive ID.

Not sure of the ID, but they are two different species of sandpiper.

I think Semipalmated or Western Sandpiper too - hard to tell them apart, for sure. A fun catch of these little cuties, Vern.

well caught...sandpipers does seem correct, but the subtle differences between specific types does create ID difficulties..

I think you are right about them being sandpipers, but I also tend to get my sandpipers and plovers mixed up.

I'm no expert, but I'll say they are "Least Sandpipers".
