Katy's Violin

When she was in middle school, our youngest daughter, Katy, played the violin. She was good at it too. When she decided she didn't want to play it anymore, the music teacher asked us to talk her into continuing. That doesn't always work with middle schoolers. She quit for the flute. We still have the violin.

A wonderful shot. I too played from 4th grade through Middle School. I decided there were too many other things I wanted to do once I reached High School - I joined the choir for all 4 years, and gymnastics, and hmmm, a number of other things. I still have a soft spot in my heart for violin though - as I'm sure your daughter does. ;)

That's a real nice photo of the violin. You have it easy storing a violin! Our daughters all played instruments in the school band, but took piano lessons also. I have two pianos here and one at my parents that are supposed to belong to our daughters. I just can't get them to commit to moving them to their houses!

It looks a beautiful musical instrument. Maybe, one day, she'll pick the violin up once again. There must hundreds of such instruments in homes, no longer wanted. At least this one is safe and well cared for!

This reminds me of when my sister was a child - the tape on the finger board. Thankfully, she kept it up and has her AR in violin, and advanced grades in piano and whatnot. Still plays a lot too :) I am very glad for your daughter's sake that she kept going with a musicial instrument. Hopefully it is something that she still enjoys doing.
