This scene will be short lived. I was standing on a street that had just been constructed over this hill. Soon to be built in this area will be a tract of homes. It is a sad thing. This small forested hill is within the Springfield city limits and I was hoping that it would be saved as a park or forested area. It was beautiful there, even eagles had appeared in the trees. The new street cutting through the trees seemed to be an invasion. I need to get up there another time to capture the natural area. And I hope that you enjoy the scene as much as I did.

Nice shot. Growth is pretty much inevitable, but building up downtown rather than out would certainly be better long term.

That's sad. But I suppose it's better that they cut down the trees in the city limits rather than sprawling all over.

A lovely shot Vern. Sadly this is happening all too often, everywhere. Nothing is allowed to stand in the way of more housing. Natural habitate is being destroyed without a thought to all the secretive natural residents who live in these areas, where to they go now once their homes are destroyed?

Vern, Yes it is sad. We seem to take more and more of the open space that humans and animals need to live as well as refresh ourselfs. You captured it beautifully.
