My friend, John, and I followed Highway 38 through Drain and Elkton to Reedsport, on the Coast. Winchester Bay is a short distance south of Reedsport on Highway 101. It is a beautiful drive. One nice stop near Reedsport is the Dean Creek Elk Viewing Area. Only trouble was that the elk were grazing a good distance from the road. One image shows the herd. That was all we could see that day. We enjoyed the trip, despite the uncooperative elk and the rain.
