The Babur Gardens

Those gardens were built in the mid-16th century for the first Mogul Emperor Zahir-ed-Din Mohammad Babur Shah and this is one of the few cultural landscapes to exist in Kabul.
The gardens are built as a gentle upslope towards the final terrace that retains the tomb of the former king; Babur Shah.


The gardens have changed shape and design countless times through the centuries and are now finally restored to a wonderful shape after the 20-year civil war that ravaged the entire city.
You can see the damages of this war on the marble-tomb on the top of the terrace by the bulletholes that are still visible.

Open every day from 0700 till 1900, entrance fee is 5 Afghani's for locals, 100 Afghani's for foreigners.
