Recycle Bins

Thailand

I have seen plastic bins in town but there are other innovative means of recycling practised in other parts of the world. I spotted these during my visit to Bangkok and it was interesting to note they used plastic bags instead of bins.
Adopting the recycle habit, we can help to manage the collection, recycling, reduction and disposal of municipal solid waste in an efficient, cost-effective and safe manner.

I don't understand the recycling industry. Where I live we are not even required to recycle at all. It's voluntary.

Hi Lee,
You are right! It was just an image which caught my attention as we used plastic bins for recycling over in Malaysia and not plastic bags. I suppose it's not exactly `environmental, huh???" esp if collected and thrown out again and another alternate profit making industry!

Plastic bags are touted by the plastics industry as an 'alternative' because they cannot be recycled. After each filling, the contents along with the bag is thrown away. In Bangkok, probably in an open landfill. Then new plastic bags are purchased, the cycle is repeated, thus ensuring an endless profit chain for the plastics industry. Lee
