American Bittern

When I spotted this American Bittern he was in heavy cover.
His neck was outstretched with his beak pointed straight up
characteristically mimicking one of the surrounding leafs.
His body was well concealed. I watched and waited for over
two hours before he began hunting and for a few seconds
revealed his full beauty. He is about the size of a Night Heron.
Much larger than his cousin the Least Bittern. The editorial "he"
is used here as I am not sure if this is a male or female. I
printed this on Epson Radiant White Watercolor Paper.
The print is 11x14 and is signed and dated on the bottom margin.
