One of the most famous signs on the Strip is depicted here on this Westward Ho Silver Strike (see the Scheherezade strike). The Ho closed its doors in 2005 and was demolished in 2006. It was one of the last great places where people came to have a lot of fun without spending a fortune. Management organized themed trips and tours from all over the country. Folks could enjoy themselves there without feeling like workers in a slot factory.
Neighbors of the Ho are also heading for dust: the Riviera, Frontier and Stardust (of "Casino" fame) will all be demolished soon.
