You see this map posted several times on the way up. It's virtually useless, as the contour lines and trail markings in the natural lighting are almost faded out. As vague as they are in this photo, the photo shows them much more distinctly than standing there in front of one of these maps. At any rate, my trailhead is labeled, "Equestrian Trailhead." In my confusion on the way back, I climbed up the Upper Hardy Creek Trail to 1,900 feet, when I was supposed to climb from 1,450 feet to 1,550 feet, ONCE on the way back. Brain dead. I couldn't figure out why I kept climbing and climbing higher and higher, thinking my memory was going to pot, even though I wasn't smoking anything.
