Damn! Blocked by this unruly side creek, just deep enough for me to say, no thanks. Wimp that I am now in my old age, I was forced to turn around here, at an elevation of 1,650 feet, just short of the intersection with the Franklin Ridge Trail. I just did not want to risk slipping on a rock and falling down among these rocks, or even getting water in my boots. The safest route across the creek was deeper than the tops of my gaiters.
