Now I'm past the open views of Mt. Hood and on the stretch of the Timberline Trail that runs parallel to the circumference of the mountain at 5,300 feet elevation to 5,500 feet. This is the beginning of snow drifts that just keep getting more and more extreme and caused just about everybody we met to eventually turn around, including me.
