This was a lake just outside Climax. Climax is home to a huge Molybdenum mine. Molybdenum is effective at hardening steel. Anyone who has driven between Copper Mountain Ski Resort and Leadville has seen the huge tailing mounds / settling ponds of the Climax Mine. They are finally starting to clean up the area and are trying to return it to nature.
