As far as I know
· the FW4E3161 FW4E3162 files are VISION III 200
· the FW4E3163 VISION III 500T
Normally if I was finishing a file I would have brightened the whites and increased the saturation, but the fie were left this way so there latitude left I to move around.
You cannot “unsaturated” something if it is truly saturated.
I am unsure of how the grain size / noise came out.- I do not have millions of feet to compare it to. From a mathematical point of view – this vision III was a lot easier to work with than a lot of the old colour negs I deal with.
The chart was useful in balancing the colours but there must be a minor art in positioning the chart depending on how the scene is lit.
What is sort of hidden in these images is the compensation for black level. In cases where the negative was heavily exposed, the post processing retrieved the black level, within limits.
