I tried a bunch of techniques:
Rotated and cropped image so that car would have a "speedy, downhill" look.
color corrected to my perception of natural colors
added sky and clouds and BMW logo
border in car color then added layer styles of drop shadow and bevel/emboss
Made the drop shadow on its own layer for distorting and fading.
