fix-overexposed-face.jpg

I used the left side of the image to supply tone and texture for the overexposed area on the right.

Copy a portion of the left side to a new layer.
Free transform to flip horizontally and shape approximately to match the underlying image.
Temporary change to Difference blending mode helps with transformation.
Add a layer mask and hide the new layer with black, then gently paint white in the overexposed areas.
Change the layer blending mode to aid the transition. Darken or Linear Burn seemed to work best for me.

I used the liquify tool to reshape the side of the nose slightly. The initial "flip" made the image look too symmetrical
