Vines Botanical Gardens

Vines Botanical Gardens was originally the private estate of
Charles "Boe" and Myrna Adams, who purchased the land and house
in 1979. The family immediately began extensive remodeling
projects to transform the original two-story house (circa 1970)
into the 18,000 square foot Manor House present today. They also
imported statues from around the world to augment the 25 acres
surrounding the house. Most of the remodeling and landscaping
was completed by 1987.

In December of 1990, the Adams's donated the entire estate, then
valued at $6 million, to Gwinnett County for use as a public park.
The site was named Vines Botanical Gardens in honor of Odie, an
avid gardener. The family moved back to their home state of Arkansas
where Boe now works in the cotton industry.
