La marque au trident est créée en 1914 à Bologne par Alfieri Maserati.
Le modèle 3500 GT est le 1er succès commercial de la marque.
Modèle : 6 cylindres en ligne - 3485 cm3 _ 220 à 240 ch à 5500 tr/mn. Boîte de vitesse à 5 rapports. Vitesse : 230 km/h.
Production : environ 2000 exemplaires entre 1957 et 1964.
