OK - Yesterday I noticed the first spawn in the pond, so today was my opportunity to get the image I've wanted to try all year. I set up a small aquarium under the trees (to get some background). The aquarium was set on a couple of timber slats 3 ft off the ground. I had a 550ex flash gun pointing down, with two big white reflectors bouncing the light back up under the frogs. I used a small pine cone to set up the focus and get the lighting correct before introducing the frogs.
Next to capture a pair of frogs in embrace I waited by the pond for them to re-surface. Quickly placed them into the aquarium. Snatched a dozen quick shots and placed them back in the pond. I watched for a while and they just got on with 'whatever they were doing' so no real disruption.
I do like the effect, shame the foot has dropped out of frame, but I didn't want to hold them too long so its the best I could get.
Hope you like it.
