The oldest of the four lodges on the private game reserve, the Selati camp provides the all African experience, where the theme of the decorations reminds travelers of yesteryears. The entire campground, including every suite is furnished with historical artifacts of railroad days at the turn of 20th century. It is both elegant and rustic at the same time.
There is no fence around the camp so tourists are accompanied to their suite after dinner. One has to call for service, even with the smallest requests and is prohibited from leaving the suite after finishing up dinner. We found leopard paw prints on our last day. The wifi was only accessible in the main building on the camp.
Each of the lodges are far from one another and can only be driven to the other places. We could not walk around freely.
The food was excellently prepared by the small cooking staff, especially at dinner time.
