Big 5: Lion

We only managed to see two lions on this trip, during an evening drive. I was hoping for more sightings but I was glad to observe these beautiful and fierce creatures up close.

Lions are nocturnal. They rest during the day and hunt at night. They usually work as a group to increase their chance of hunting success. There are about 2000 lions in the Kruger National Park and surrounding area, representing the largest populations in Africa.
