A giraffe can be as tall as 5.5 meters. This makes it difficult to drink water or sleep. They usually sleep standing up. While they eat from the tree tops, when winter time comes, they are forced to eat evergreens and other vegetations to get by. Giraffes usually travel as a group. But a solitary one usually is an older male that can no longer attracts females.
On this safari, we only saw one. Judging by the tear on the coat of fur, he has been through some tough fights in his life.
