Budapest is the capital of Hungary. The Duna (Danube) river splits the city in two: Buda and Pest (they used to be two different cities). It used to be the second capital of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. After many decades of communism the city is recovering its lost splendor.

It rained the entire time during our short stay, but we thoroughly enjoyed the city with a concert in the evening we caught totally by accident. We also took the famous thermal bath at the hotel we stayed.
