2022 was a slow return to greater normalcy. I had two business trips in Toronto and Hawaii where Alan joined me for extended visits in surrounding areas. I also had a visit from a dear friend, with whom we traveled to Central Asia which was just slowly opening up post the Covid pandemic. We retraced part of the Silk Road, enjoying mulberries, visited silk and ceramic workshops and had plenty of "plov", the regional dish! We also took a trip together to California's central coast for a whale watching cruise and a visit to one and only castle in the United States.
