Amateur Photographer Diploma in Photography

I am presently studying for The Amateur Photographer Diploma in Photography and will be presenting my work here as I progress through the course.

The course is designed for people of intermediate photographic skill and is intended to take students from the standard they are currently at to a higher level of competence in a variety of areas. Each student is assigned a personal tutor who will be responsible for giving personal written feedback on every module submitted. The course is split into three parts. The first four modules deal with technique and technical issues such as mastering exposure, metering, depth of field, hyper focal distance, and basic rules of composition. The next four modules (chosen from modules 5 to 11) are subject-based and cover such subjects as people, landscapes, nature, architecture, and sport, and allow students to apply the technical issues learnt in the first four modules. Each module has an individual aim along with set tasks.

The final part is a personal project, which will be the showcase of all that has been learnt, and of the standards achieved.
