Traditions

My husband and I made these the first year that we moved into this house. They are the characters from James Rice's Cajun Night Before Christmas. I had commented that it was time to get rid of them because they were looking old and worn. My daughter decided that they were too important to be thrown out and spent her weekend mixing the perfect colors and repainting them, while we painted the house.

Lovely... what a special daughter you have and what fond memories of Christmas she must hold.

What a nice thing to do. And your painting the house must mean the storm damage is all repaired. It's going to be a great Thanksgiving!

It's great that the kids want to keep the traditions going. A nice shot of their hard work

That's my girl, steeped in tradition. Never throw anything away; hang on to it until another generation takes over etc. etc......... Miss seeing her.

Such a nice shot. You must be proud that they took upon themselves to restore this holiday ornament.

So cool Elaine... you never know how much the tradition means until it threatens to be taken away.
Good kids!

Tradditions are the best. Wonderful that she (they) did this.

This is really neat! Not much more can be said, things we can depend on and that remain the same over years can come to mean a great deal. These kids must have pretty darn good parents.

Family traditions that continue on to the next generation are so special. She looks so into the project.
