Dragonfly

It looks like this dragonfly had an experience with a spider web and something damaged his wing. It was still flying around happily, so I guess it does okay without a little piece of wing.

Great macro - I haven't tried my A95 on insects yet, but your shot is very encouraging.

Good catch Elaine, though I'm laughing at the vision of Laine mountain climbing in her best hose :)

you are doing so well with these dragonfly images!... I think that the inherent strength in the sturcture will take a lot of damage

WOW, these guys are hard to photograph! Nice shot! Every time I've tried, all I get is blur. Excellent!

Good catch Elaine. There is a lot of evidence of misadventures on his wings. Must be quite a story in his circle.

Another great catch - without this shot I would never have even thought about damaged wings - I just think of them as so perfect and symmetrical. Nice shot.

A bit like wearing pantyhose on a mountain climb I guess...something is bound to snag them at sometime...good find, Elaine.

Super detail and photo. Maybe the wings just tatter after a while like butterfly wings seem to do?

Very nice shot. Lots of detail in the wings. Makes me want to visit my local pond .

Wow, you really got this one! Look at those blue eyes!

Probably the result of flak from ground fire. It's a war out there!
