Under the Bridge

New Orleans, LA

This is the underpass of the I-610 that passes through the area near the French Quarter of New Orleans at the intersection of Orleans Ave and North Claiborne. Underpasses can be pretty dreary places but the New Orleans style artwork and well placed benches has made this a nice place for people to walk and run. I went to the French Quarter today with a group of friends to have brunch and celebrate a friend's birthday. We went to visit the Old Ursuline Convent where her parrain is the Monsignor.

Very nicely captured. Lovely urban art!

I really like this perspective. You didn't need a flash (it only has a range of about 15 ft anyway) but a tripod would be a good idea.

Wonderful perspective. I like that little purple thread of sky between the two halves. It looks like water would drip on pedestrians when it rains.

Great lines. And very artful grafitti. I'm glad the amateurs didn't ruin it.

Wonderful symmetry. I love how you took that shot the angle. Great.

The art work really brightens up the area through there. Great capture Elaine and I can see you had a great time.

Really brightens things up when the posts are painted brightly. Very good perspective shot.

Great example of the vanishing point Elaine. The kids look like they're having a blast.

Great shot. I love the symmetry and the perspective. The people in it and the painted columns lift it so far above a typical bridge shot.
