Ship and Tug

It was a gray, dreary morning, but the sunshine came out this afternoon. I took this as we were crossing the Hale Boggs Bridge. This ship was moving down the river, with the tug staying parallel to it. When I first spotted it, it was very close to the levee and the tug was acting as a buffer and helping it move away from the levee. You can see another tug in the distance pushing barges filled with grain.

Nice contrast in the size of the boats!

Now I have two people to worry about, hanging out of car windows at 60 mph taking pictures. Good shot though.

Very cool! Never any lack of things going on there! Nice colors and capture.

Once again, a lot going on on the river... and good to see river and countryside together. What happened to the car after the photo!

It literally never stops does it...something going on there every day. Good capture, Elaine.

There is so much going on in this world. This was a contemplative image for me. Nice shot.

Love those ship shots. I am amazed those little boats have enough power to control those large ships.

Very beautiful, Elaine. Who was steering the car--your knees?

I really like this, Elaine. Love the play of scale and the colors and composition are stunning. Does need a slight ccw rotation.. the horizon is tipped. Nicely done.

The foreground ship looks massive compared to the frain ship, yikes. It must displace a fair amount of water. Nice shot of the river Elaine.
