Hale Boggs Bridge

This is half of the Hale Boggs Bridge where it crosses the Mississippi River in Luling. I was standing near the foot of the bridge doing a GPS activity for a workshop. It is amazing how much the river level has gone down and the beautiful pieces of driftwood that it has left behind. I'll have to stop back and get a picture with a ship passing under the bridge.

This is your favorite bridge, too, if I remember correctly??? I can see why... I'm closing my eyes and not breathing the whole time. YIKES!

Driftwood is a wonderful photo subject

Nice! I love how some bridges just have majesty and power to them. So many are instantly recognizable, aren't they? Great capture.

Big bridge. Nice moody shot. Looking forward to seeing a ship underneath although this photo does project its size very well.

Wow, quite a bridge! Who is Hale Boggs? Sounds so familiar but I can't place it. Perhaps a senator or something, I suppose.

Very strong image, Elaine. I like the way it just goes to the right......makes you want to see more. I'd love to be there at sunrise or sunset!

I like the lines in this image. The black against the light sky gives this picture a bit of drama. Very nice captured.

That's a magnificent looking bridge but I guess to cross that river it would have to be huge. Nice crisp shot, Elaine.

Great angle Elaine, you should be able to find all kinds of drift wood shots along the river. From the bridge it looks like a lot by Little Eddies place, if you can get to it.

Well, Gayle, get your boots on. I'll be there tomorrow to help haul the logs.
Very nice shot of the bridge, Elaine. I shall print it out and bring to Lindy (Mrs. Hale) Boggs. She'll be thrilled.

Nice angle. The dark bridge against the bright sky makes it look all the more impressive.

You were doing my favorite workshop day! The river is really down. There's enough cypress logs over the levee by my house to build a nice house.
