Waiting

It seems every Wednesday afternoon on the way home I catch the train. It was a gray day with rain showers on and off all day long. We are expecting more rain over the next few days and then the promise of cool weather. We have been in the 80s for the last couple of days.

Like the detail on the loco.L.

It is a lost railroad. The UP has taken it over. As they would say on the SP railroad which the Cotton Belt is a part,"you can't spell STUPID without the UP, long live the SP". Great shot.

I like the washed out colors on this train and then this splash of red which screams for attention.

That looks like a locomotive that means business!

I'm a big fan of train shots and this is a great one. Like the name on the engine too.

Like the 'Cotton Belt' tag - sitting around 32F here at the moment :)

80?!?!?! Degrees ?!?!?!? OMG! Elaine, no lie, today we were talking about when it gets to be February, we've got the windows open and are starting to take walks at 30d! Sheesh.
BTW I like the train, think I'll catch the next one heading south.

There most be a reason why we all love trains!

Yeah trains are ohh soo cool, and you are right about the rain. I think the Northshore will get some hail between tonight and tomarrow some time,,, according to the weather man.

I love trains. Where I grew up in Kansas, we used to sit by the tracks and watch the AT&SF go by at 80mph, before the tracks around the country turned to crap. Very nice, and convenient getting "stuck" there every day!

In my head I can hear the blast of the horn you have made it so I feel I'm there, Elaine.

You've caught so much detail on the Cotton Belt engine. I like the bit of rust and failing paint. Very nice.

This is an excellent picture in detail. I haven't seen The Cotton Belt logo on a train in a long time.

Some people have all the luck. What's more fun than watching trains? Nice timing.
