7.Tradition

This is a basket of holiday books that I have put out every Christmas since my children were little. We would add one or two books every year. My kids have outgrown the books in the basket, but it would be unthinkable to not put the books out. They still pull books out to re-visit from time to time. My friends' children love to read them when they come to visit.

I do the same... only our Christmas books reside on the coffee table. This year we added a beautifully illustrated edition of "Frosty The Snowman". Thanks for sharing your... perhaps mine will make it into a PAD before the month is out.

Heartwarming. My kids are in their 30's and they still like to go through the traditional Christmas book collection. This is a nice shot of "family values."

You can tell the popularity of the book by it's curled pages. Good tradition Elaine.

Nice little tradition.

A great tradition. And it's good you have younger children around to enjoy it. Those books look like they're in wonderful condition after all the years.

I brought my family a copy of "The Cajun Night Before Christmas" several years ago, and it became an instant tradition to read it aloud (with the proper pronunciation, of course!).

Great tradition! Every birthday and holiday my kids got at least one present that was a book. And for Christmas I have a copy of "The Littlest Angel".. which I've never read out loud because I cry like a baby..

Wonderful. And, that's why you have those genius children because you supplied them with books and read to them.

I'm sure they come down when the lights are out and no one's looking, and thumb through their old books again... I do.

Tradition is such an important part of Christmas. Loved your caption. We also still do things that the kids have "outgrown."

And I just have to love any Santa that gets pulled around by crocodiles! Now that's awesome! ;)

Great traditions, Elaine. Sometimes it seems it's the only way to get kids to bed!
