Sandor, the eagle in this photo, is a captive eagle. He was rescued from the side of the highway at a very early age, after an accident that left him with only one wing. The recovery centre, whose mandate is to release rescued animals back into the wild, was unable to do so with Sandor, so he contributes to the centre in an educational capacity. He is a little over 3-years old now and he has alomost completed the change to the colouring of a mature bald eagle...white head and tail and clear amber eyes.
