"Carl, look over the side!" the deckhand yelled. There they were, dolphins...following along riding the wake of the boat. Wow! They were so close I couldn't fit some of them into the frame of the lens. What an experience....and more fun than I can begin to describe. I'd have to say this was truly my luck day! Dolphin facts: Dolphins have to be conscious to breath. This means that they cannot go into a full deep sleep, because then they would suffocate. Dolphins have "solved" that by letting one half of their brain sleep at a time. This has been determined by doing EEG studies on dolphins. Dolphins sleep about 8 hours day in this fashion. ~ dolphinear.com
