We went for a drive to see the effects of our first big fall storm and they were significant. The wind and rain has been pounding Vancouver Island for the past two days and water levels are high, with flooding throughout the area, even the eagles are beginning to look a little weather worn. Bald Eagle facts: Combined with British Columbia's population of about 20,000, the northwest coast of North America is by far their greatest stronghold for bald eagles. They flourish here in part because of the salmon. Dead or dying fish are an important food source for all bald eagles.
