This hummer sat so still that I was able to move up and get a closer shot than any I've gotten before. I'm always awed by the beauty of these birds and by their speed and mobility. I was so fortunate that this one just sat there and almost said, 'I'm so cute, you can take my picture now." Hummingbird facts: The heart rate for a hummingbird is between 500 and 1260 beats per minute during the day and drops to below 50 during the night.
