The red colour caught my eye and then I couldn't resist trying to get a shot of this dragonfly. It obligingly settled on a leaf...much easier than trying for a flying shot! Dragonfly facts: Dragonfly nymphs (the first stage after hatching) live in the water for about a year. After leaving the water and becoming flying insects, they only live for about a month.
