We are noticing butterflies of many different varieties showing up around the ponds and marshes and are enjoying trying to capture their image. We seem to be able to manage it ok when they have landed, but butterlies in flight still remain a challenge. Butterfly facts: This swallowtail is found throughout the U.S. west of the Rocky Mountains. In Canada, it has been recorded only in southern British Columbia from Vancouver Island east through the lower Fraser River Valley and then north into the Okanagan and Kootenay Valleys.
