It looked like this bear wasn't quite awake yet and he was still enjoying the last of his nap, hugging the stick as if it was a 'teddy bear.' I converted this image to black and white to see what effect I could get and liked the results. The Kodiak bear is a subspecies of brown bear found on Kodiak Island in Alaska. Kodiak bears are the largest of all brown bears and the second largest bear in the world.
