Mars was only 15 arc seconds wide during this unfavorable opposition. This image was made with a 10-inch Newtonian, a Brandon 12mm eyepiece and an Imaging Source DMK firewire camera. I took 2800 frames, and combined about two thirds of them in Registax for this final view. It was taken from a very cold back yard in suburban Milwaukee on a night of mediocre seeing.
