High clouds with ice crystals form a halo around the full moon on January 20, 2000, as seen from a backyard in Whitefish Bay, Wis. The moon was only a couple hours away from becoming fully eclipsed. I used a Nikon D1 (one of the first digital SLR cameras to be widely used) and a Nikon 16mm f/2.8 lens.
