Bodhran Beat

This is entered in the CI Challenge #42: Unusual In-Camera Techniques, Exhibition gallery, ending 06/07/2011.
It came in at 4th place out of 17 images with 5.9 points from 6 votes out of 13.

This is not a double exposure, at least not in the usual way. Canons don't have the ability to do double exposures. This was done with a hat! I put a hat over the lens, opened the lens, exposed for one hand position, put the hat back over the lens, repositioned the hand, removed the hat and exposed for that position. I wanted to do more hand positions but the images just looked messy and by the time I got the exposure worked out we were both exhausted!
