The last two nights stayed in Bicheno (Anchlia Waterfront Cottage), a 30 minutes drive to Freycinet National Park. Bicheno lies on the eastern coast of Tasmania where you can see little penguins walk back to their burrows every night. We went to Diamond Island Resort to see the penguins returned after dark. In Bicheno, Yellow Wattlebirds (Tasmanian endemic) and Little Wattlebirds (Australian endemic) are common and you should be able to hear their calls. East coast is famous for its sunshine for 300 days in a year and we went to the Park for the renowned Wineglass Bay lookout. Obviously two nights in this region is not sufficient for bird-watching and sight-seeing especially we arrived very late in the afternoon from Cradle Mountain (5 hours drive).
