The dispute should be settled with a compromise.... Iris..... Orchid..... Call it an Orchidiris. Now you have it ...Orchidiris. It now has the look, the feel and now the sound (it rhymes) of a part of the female anatomy. Ciao, Michael.

This is a member of the iris family, it's latin name is Tigridia pavonia, very common in South America.
It's not een orchid.

Orchid in a natural setting. How brilliant . Love the water droplets too. Very refreshing for a change. VVVVV ( I voted 4 times) and I don't care what they say.

Pieter, I give you my word that it is indeed orchid since first of all irises don't grow in Costa Rica, too hot and humid, and secondly I have exactly the same orchid in my winter garden
