Sometimes amigo, the elements within a photo, because of their subtle tones and placement, do not lend themselves to any obvious, quickly deduced symbolic interpretations. That is the case of this unusual composition (unusual, even though ALL your photos are unusual thus making it quite usual....oy). However, having said ALL DAT, the placement of the dreamy colored stained glass with diamond metallic ornament above the caged window, divided horizontally by a drab maroon bar is strikingly similar to Dante's concept of heaven, purgatory and hell as outlined in his beloved, illustrated version of the Inferno. If you recall, o evil one, Hell itself had nine levels. Your fence has eight rows. And if you include the open space on top, (open to receive new members from purgatorio above) you have a total of nine levels. Now was this your intent when posting this provocative piece? Who knows? But I do find it interesting to see the influence, consciously or unconsciously, of Dante throughout your work. A well exposed cerebral image; one whose subtle meanings seem to emanate beyond the caged confines of its caged clad lower windows. Ciao, Michael.
